Now that season 9 has come and gone as quickly as the Book of Rao got rid of those Kandorians, let's make our way to another installment of
Smallville. It's also known as The Final Season, which hopefully deals with what the fans are dying to see: Superman.

The CW has just released a statement to Michael Ausiello of
Entertainment Weekly, giving fans a hint on what to expect for season 10. It's not much of a spoiler, because we were already expecting as much. Then again, if you're hungry for some Clois info then you'd love this.
According to the report: "Season 10 promises the classic reuniting of the timeless romance between Clark and Lois, and brings Clark face-to-face with his destiny as he overcomes his final trials and forges the iconic identity that will be known for all time."
Another big issue that
Smallville season ten will be dealing with is the cast additions and deductions. We're expecting a lot of guest stars here, but we've got news on the series regulars.
Ausiello spotted the fact that Cassidy Freeman, who plays the recently burned Tess Mercer, is included on the "list of returning series regulars." That's certainly a lot to think about, especially now that she's sworn allegiance to Clark (Tom Welling) last season.
In contrast to that, Allison Mack might not be around so much. She will no longer be a regular on season ten, but will appear for a number of episodes. The actress
told Ausiello:
"It's amazing to think that Chloe Sullivan and I have been one in the same for over a third of my life," she said. "[...] Out of respect for the amazingly loyal fans and the place I will always have in my own heart for Chloe, I'm coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloe's
Smallville legacy properly."
Now that we have Clark's allies covered, let's move on to the villains. Callum Blue will certainly not be back to reprise his role as Zod, but our hero will have a worse foe to deal with.
Chicago Now pointed out the appearance of (possibly) Granny Goodness during the season 9 finale. That could mean Darkseid sauntering in and bringing the Apokolips with him. There's been plenty of speculation and hope surrounding that, so it's something to look forward to.
But Clark isn't the only superhero battling enemies next season. We last saw Oliver (Justin Hartley) trapped in an air duct being invaded by "not-Kandorians."
ComicBookMovie has some theories on what these creatures might be. They were first thought to be New Gods, which includes several allies of Apokolips.
For fans of the comics, the thought of Parademons or Intergang coming is what's
circulating. The
Smallville executives haven't made any comments regarding that, so we'll just have to wait and see what other spoilers pop up. Bear in mind that season ten will be the series' last, so it's bound to be epic.
